John grew up in rural western Oklahoma where he worked on farms and ranches while attending high school. He was Vice President of the local FFA chapter and raised and showed hogs and steers. He grew up hunting, fishing and at the rodeo grounds.
After graduating he began his career in home construction and building materials sales. In 1986 he met his wife of 34 years, Leslie. They raised two children who they are very proud of and now have two wonderful grandchildren.
In 1988 they moved to Texas as a member of management for McCoy’s Building Supply. In total, he spent 15 years managing stores for them in several locations in East Texas and Arkansas. He also worked as a sales and construction center manager for Morton Buildings and opened a construction center office in Marshall Texas. From where he built many farm, ranch, commercial, barndominiums, and equine facilities.
In 2010 Leslie and him began and built their own very successful pet food distribution business here in Longview. During this time, he became an AKC certified Canine Good Citizen (CGC) evaluator.
He also operated a canine obedience training center. Along with Leslie they worked in dog rescue and was able to help save over one hundred Golden Retrievers from the East Texas area. This is where he found Luke, a two-year-old red coated golden retriever. They would go onto compete in obedience competitions all over Texas and Louisiana. In all they earned thirteen obedience titles and met hundreds of new friends.
John comes to the real estate industry with a unique understanding of customer service and the ability to listen to understand. He has hands-on experience with Lake Homes, Homes for Sale, Equine properties, Country Homes, and Commercial properties.
He is familiar with all of the East Texas area including the Longview, Tyler and surrounding areas. He is also a member of the Greater Tyler area Realtors (GTAR) and Longview area association of Realtors (LARR) MLS services. This gives a larger number of available resources.
John got into the real estate industry to help people realize their dream of home ownership. Coming from a construction and service background, he has a very unique way of looking at real estate.
